‘Green Skills’ – safety and environment training
Implementing safety and environmental policies and procedures
The NSW Department of Education and Training is providing training subsidies to small businesses in NSW who wish to train their staff in 'Green Skills'. One of the competencies available under this program is FPICOR3201A: Implement safety, health and environmental policies and procedures.
Workspace Training is offering this course by distance learning mode to eligible participants. To be eligible, the course participant must be:
- working as a manager, supervisor or environment officer
- employed by a small business (up to 20 employees) in NSW
Note that only two employees per business are eligible for the subsidy.
Course details

The course material is web-based and covers all aspects of the competency. Participants complete four assignments and submit them to Workspace Training for assessment. The assignments include a workplace risk assessment, a discussion of the laws and regulations relevant to safety and environmental care, and an overview of on-site emergency procedures.
The four topics covered are:
- Putting safety policies into practice
- Managing risks
- Dealing with emergencies
- Caring for the environment
Enrolment and course costs
The cost to eligible participants for this course is $56. This is 10% of the total cost for the course. The balance is subsidised by the NSW Department of Education and Training.
