Furniture making competencies

Set out below are a range of competencies relating to practical tasks that you might include in your Furnishing Qualification.

These competencies are most suited to the following qualifications:

  • LMF20302 Certificate II in Furniture Making
  • LMF20309 Certificate II in Furniture Making
  • LMF32109 Certificate III in Cabinet Making
  • LMF30302 Certificate III in Furniture Making
  • LMF30402 Certificate III in Furniture Making (Cabinet Making)
  • LMF30502 Certificate III in Furniture Making (Wood Machining)

LMFFM3027B Set up, operate and maintain automated edge banding machines
Assembling:
LMFFM2002B Assemble furnishing components
LMFFM2007B Follow plans to assemble production furniture
LMFFM3012B Prepare cutting list from plans and job specifications
LMFFM3002B Construct furniture using leg and rail method
LMFFM3003B Produce angled and curved furniture using manufactured board
LMFFM3004B Produce angled and curved furniture using solid timber
LMFFM3005B Fabricate custom furniture
Laminating:
LMFFM2004B Apply sheet laminates by hand
LMFFM2011B Apply manufactured board conversion techniques
Joining:
