Your job

This worker is being fed studs and stud clusters in order as he puts them into position along the frame.
The frame and truss plant uses specialised machinery help break down the assembly process into a series of stages.
Although the same basic principles always apply, the processes used to assemble a wall frame can vary from one workplace to another. The main factors influencing these variations are:
- the number of workers in the team
- the type of machinery used and, in particular, the level of automation in the plant
- the design of the work flow, including the procedures used to cut the components, assemble them, stack the frames, and bundle the finished order for delivery.
In this section, we'll look at some typical job titles and duties for frame makers. You may find that your own workplace uses different titles for some of these jobs, or combines some of the activities with other functions for particular people.
